Xiaogan Social Welfare and Medical Recovery Center is a public welfare institution which integrates pension, prevention of mental illness, treatment, rehabilitation, nursing, scientific research and teaching. The moving project of the “center” is a one of the 100 major livelihood projects decided by the municipal party committee and municipal people’s government of Xiaogan and the only mental disorder judicial appraisal center authorized by the provincial health and family planning commission and the provincial department of justice. Moreover, it is the execution unit of one of the two demonstrative areas of central transfer payment of severe mental disease management and treatment in Hubei, the fixed point medical institution designed by Xiaogan for poor mentally patients medical assistance project, the technical guidance center of the mental disability and intellectual disability community and the designated unit of Xiaogan for appraisal of entitled groups and the disabled.
